We had our breakfast at the guest house again. The serving at AllenBell was bigger compared to Hamden & their sausages did taste better too. I really enjoyed my meal here.
We called for a taxi as it is quite a distance to the city center. The journey took us almost 20 mins, partly due to the heavy traffic in the weekends because everyone is going there.
We dropped off at St. Andrews Street, just further up of Regent Street & ventured into a mall along there. I've conveniently forgotten the name of the place. Nothing much worth remembering anyway. A mall is just a mall. Hahaha!
We moved along to another mall & I think it's called Lionyard Shopping Centre. Alex bought some PC games from a shop there & frankly speaking, there is nothing for me at all. There's nothing here that I can't get in Singapore in SG dollars.
The chinaman was pretty funny though. He disappeared for a moment & emerged later with 2 Disney plastic bags. He bought 2 little stuff toys! Was he out of his mind? Buying Disney stuffs in UK when everything is MIC (read: Made In China)? Anyway, it is his money so he can spend it any way he likes. But damn it! Why am I made to pay for his accomodation?
We continued walking around the area, all the while it was drizzling & luckily my down jacket has a hood. So I managed to keep my head dry all throughout. Both of them had umbrellas.
Somehow, we ended up along Bridge Street & that's when we decided to head down to Grafton Shopping Centre which was located along East Road. It looked kinda far on the map but it was ok. We headed out to Park Street & turned into Jesus Lane, down to the round about & crossed over to Maid's Causeway before turning into James Street. That leads us to the rear entrance of Grafton Shopping Centre. This shopping centre was pretty big. Just another typical mall & it is also the place where we had junk food! Burger King! I had a Royale Cheese, which was actually just chicken, cheese & some greens. I ordered the same for the chinaman too, obviously. Alex had a double cheese whopper. It was very filling & funny though, the chicken was quite salty. I had 2 cups of coke to wash the saltiness down.
We checked out the rest of the mall after lunch & Alex decided to get a cellular phone from a shop call The Carphone Warehouse. He bought a Sony Ericsson T250 for £$49.00. That's pretty cheap & it actually includes a £$10 airtime. A rather good buy I should say.
After that it was kinda getting dark & so we decided to head back to the guest house. We had intended to take a bus back but we just couldn't find a service that leads to Coldhams Lane. So we agreed that since it is early, we might as well just walk back to the guest house. It was actually quite a bad choice because it was drizzling & we don't really know the way back! But it was all good. We made it back to AllenBell in about an hour. Fortunately for me, I had my pair of Caterpillar boots on which kept both my feet dry but Alex's socks were soaked.
We did not go out for dinner after that as I was already pretty tired & furthermore we had to pack our luggage because we are leaving the following morning.
I had a cup noodle later in the night & quickly dozed off after packing my luggage. It was pretty much a hassle to be moving around so often in such a short time. I guess we are worse than nomads!
