Day 9 in Cambridge

I woke up at 6am this morning & was contemplating on going back to sleep but decided not to as we had to move out by 10am. Yeah, this time we're moving to The Earl Of Derby. We had our breakfast at 830am & we settled the bill after that. I paid £$180.00 for the 2 nights stay for the chinaman & myself. He is becoming to be a real burden on my wallet.

We called for a taxi at 10am & deliberately requested for a mini-van type as we had 3 large suitcases which wouldn't fit into a normal salon car. The operator over the phone advised us that it would cost us £$11.00 per trip. Well, like we have a choice? Anyway I intend to claim this from my company because I did not wanted to move!

The taxi arrived & there was another unpleasant surprise. The driver told us it was actually £$13.00! Whatever! I just wanted to get this done & over with so we just hopped on.

Upon reaching The Earl Of Derby, there was more bad news in store for us. The lady told us our rooms will not be ready until 3pm. It was only 1030am! My god! What are we suppose to do for that 4-1/2 hours? Alex & I both had a beer while waiting & the chinaman did his vanishing trick again. It wasn't only after he returned that we found out he went to check out the distance from the guest house to the bus station.
It wasn't really my concern since I'm taking the rail so I didn't bother.

At abt 130pm the lady advised us that our rooms are ready. I have not been so happy before since arriving in Cambridge. We lugged our baggages up the narrow stairways & made it into our respective rooms. It wasn't really pleasant looking. In fact it looked kinda rundown. But the most important thing was that, IT HAD A WORKING WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS THAT I COULD HOOK UP TO!!!

Nothing else seems to matter at this point of time. As long I can online, check & clear my mails & see my darling online, that's it! I'm not moving anymore! Sometimes we beggars just cannot be choosers. It ain't exactly easy living in foreign land, even if it's just for 2 weeks.
