My little bumblebee is overdue for servicing & I've just got most of it done today. Flush & change of engine oil, discovered that my brake pads were more than 50% worn and the brake rotors had deep cut lines too. So that has to be changed too. Not that I remember ever having to brake real hard. According to the mechanic, the problem was with my brake pads. Apparently, they weren't Honda originals & that ain't good for the rotors.
So after spending $700 on all of those, the mechanic took it out for a test drive & came back with unpleasant results. My rear bearings are worn & those need to go too! That's another $180! Unfortunately they did not have existing stock & I will have to make a trip down again tomorrow to have that replaced. All in all $880!
Not that I'm complaining but I've always advocated that tires and brakes are most important. You might not be able to accelerate fast enough but when you have to stop, you have to stop no matter what & that is solely dependent on the type & condition of your tires & brakes.
It's money that I've happily spent & at the very least it does sort of put my mind at ease too.

It has been a very long time...
Wow! More than 4 years have passed since I last updated this site. Now what have I been up to exactly during this period of time? Let's see... I put in a lot of over time for work, went on a few holidays, decided to quit the job as I couldn't have a balanced work life, found myself a new job & married the girl that I love! Lastly, our love nest should be ready somewhere late this year!
Everything seems to be gradually panning out nicely. I get that blessed feeling when I look back not at my achievements but just the happenings. The greatest is getting married to my better half. To me only that is considered a real achievement.
