I wonder why some people use their kidneys to think instead of their brains. Gravity obedient? I just saw Wendy of http://www.xiaxue.blogspot.com on Cross Fire 针锋相对. She's the perfect example of the dumb blonde joke, except that she's a fake blonde with no looks no boobs & as if she was socked in both eyes.
The show was talking about public show of affection. She said if good looking people like Yan Cheng Xu & Lin Zhi Ling were to kiss in public, every passerby will stop to see but will not find it disgusting. But if ugly & fat people were to be intimate in public, & she gave that disgusted look.
WHAT THE FUCK? Just who is she to say that ugly & fat people are disgusting when they kiss? Why, just why is she put on national TV? Is it the MDA's motive to announce to the nation that bloggers are nothing but airheads who eat with their ass & shit with their mouth?
Disgrace disgrace. Tsk tsk. This is more than enough reason why I should not watch local TV programmes...
Beautiful young people are God's mistakes. Beautiful old people are works of art.

Chinatown
Both Friday & Saturday nights were spent in Chinatown. It was much more chaotic than the previous week. Everywhere was people mountain people sea (人山人海).
Friday I was there with just my delicate half for she had a mission on hand. Few nights ago, she was there with her family & they bought a dress for dear little Jomaine but it was way too large for her. Thus she was assigned to make the trip down to exchange for a smaller size. It was sheer disappointment when the lady boss of the stall said she had no stock for the size that we wanted but it will come in the next day. She advised us to give her a call before we go down again. So my lady saved the number in her mobile & we left the stall.
Ericia : So where do we go now? (with the look that we should continue exploring the rest of the stalls)
Me: Anything lo. See where you wanna go lo. (with that reluctant look knowing exactly where we will be heading)
Ok, I have to admit it wasn't that bad afterall. We bought 2 coconuts before roaming around. The juice was real sweet while the coconut flesh was kinda tasteless. Perhaps it would have been much better if we had eaten the flesh before drinking the juice.
There were a handful of stalls selling some taiwanese candies or sort but we stopped at this particular stall to check out the merchandise. One lady was standing on top of a chair behind the counter & claiming she's selling the real stuff, the best, the original from Taiwan. A couple next to us asked if they could try. The lady asked if they like that particular flavour, if they don't then she will not open it up in order not to waste. She said we can't try much, we can't buy much & she will not sell much or else there won't be enough to go around. Kinda cocky ain't it?
My delicate half tried a strawberry flavour & she was quite pleased with it so she started checking out all the flavours available & bagged quite a lot of it. As she was paying for it, I thought I heard $16. Ok, 2 kgs worth of taiwanese 果冻 for $16 was still acceptable.
As we reached the car & while I was warming up the engine, she asked if $36 for this little bag of candy was kinda expensive. Kinda? It's atrocious! I thought it was $16? Obviously I had misheard the price. But since it is a once a year affair, we just laughed it off & took many pictures of it. 45 glorious 果冻 for $36.
Saturday night was spent in Cow Car Water (牛车水) again but this time round it was with our buddies. We met up with 欢 & 包 1st as 鸸 was still at work but he joined us later. My better half managed to change the dress for a smaller size & we bought an aromatherapy set for $8. It comes with a burner, 2 normal candles, 1 green tea flavoured candle, 1 bottle of essence, 1 little porcelain tile & 1 test tube of green tea flavoured cone-shaped joss. A rather worthy buy I should say.
Will we visit Chinatown again before Chinese New Year? I seriously don't know but I have that feeling we will...

没有天理!!!
Ever since I started working in August 2006, I've been looking forward to the increment that I'll get after my probation period. But even before I become a confirmed staff, I got a pay cut first. It was a real shocker. My boss announced to my manager that my motorbike allowance will be revoked as my company has been acquired by our german principal & they do not practise motorbike allowance.
From March onwards I am supposed to take cab & claim instead. Based on my current status, normally I will visit at least 2 customer sites a day, some times 3 or 4. I estimate that on average I will be spending around $40 to $60 a day just on cab fares . Take for instance that I work 22 days a month, that would make up to around $900 to $1200! Based on my current pathetic basic salary, I will only have a little left to eat after deducting the cab fares.
Now I am left with the option of taking cabs or getting a car. $800 car allowance isn't exactly enough to see me through every month. After CPF deduction I will only be left with $640. Parking on average will be at least $200, petrol should be in the $300 to $400 region. There's nothing left for instalments, road tax, insurance & my own season parking. Not taking into consideration the heavy equipments I will have to ferry around, the wear & tear will add up to be a substantial amount too.
It isn't exactly an easy decision to make. To stay on or find another job. I really love my work. But things aren't working out the way I'd like it to be. Imagine getting a pay cut even before my probation period is over! How ridiculous is that!
